The History Channel is offering up a new series for all us Alpaca Liptic people. It's entitled Life without People. I strongly suggest all of you watch it. It looks very promising. Perhaps we'll be watching what will ensue shortly after 12-21-2012. One can only watch and hope. I know that's what I'll be doing. May the Lips wiggle lovingly against your cheek!

Creeping slowly, the Alpaca Lips shall approach with steady caution, to the ominous strains of John Williams music. It has been envisioned, with thanks to lebonheurbum.

This is admittedly inspired by having just finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. There are no words that would suffice to persuade you to rush out to your local book store or library and get this book. I didn't just read it, I devoured it. I'm what most would consider a slow reader. I tend to skip whole lines of narrative and am forced to retrace my steps because I read too quickly and, therefore, miss too much. This book is written in such a style that I didn't have my usual skipping problems. It took me two days to read the entire book, 287 pages of utter, painful poetry. This got me to thinking of other books that would be decent reading material for those of us with an Endtime mindset. Here's what I have so far.

  1. The Road by Cormac McCarthy
  2. Apocalypse 2012: An Investigation into Civilization's End by Lawrence E. Josep
  3. Apocalypse Chow: How to Eat Well When the Power Goes Out by Jon Robertson, Robin Robertson, Tanja Thorjussen, and Barry David Marcus
  4. 2012 - Year of the Apocalypse: The Destruction and Resurrection of Earth by Edward Arnold
  5. The Shadow of the Apocalypse by Paul Crouch (take this one with a big block of salt as Hal Lindsey has his gooey paw in this one up to a point. )

I'm sure there are more out there, but this is a list off the cuff. By all means, though, The Road can't be any more highly recommended by me than it already has been. You'll drag your knuckles and appreciate canned pears like never before.
